The Shakti’s: How the digital literates are evolving
It is the age of technology, and the faster you work, the more successful you become, which has made digital literacy a basic need. Training on data up to October 2023 provides the foundation for the new pathways created by this technology, empowering those hitherto denied the opportunity to benefit from an education. That is exactly what Sarvam’s Shakti Shiksha program is doing—empowering young girls with digital knowledge and equipping them with the tools to shape their own futures.

Fostering Young Women’s Development Through Digital Learning.
Sarvam has initiated the 'Shakti Shiksha' program, which attempts to provide an education that is complete. This program understands that technology can act as a gate to new career opportunities, hence it allows girls to learn basic subjects along with computer and software internet skills. This understanding is key for them to be able to thrive in an increasingly digitized world.
It is not just education that these young learners are now able to reach, but also skill development and employment opportunities. With the use of a computer and the Internet, they are empowered to aspire to careers that were previously considered unattainable.
Disruption of The Cyclical Process of Marginalization
Often, marginalization occurs in cycles, where a lack of education results in diminished opportunities leading to a perpetual cycle of social and economic struggle. By incorporating technological skills within the education system, the Shakti Shiksha program is able to break this cycle. The program's participants do not only increase their knowledge but also gain self-confidence to explore many different careers.

Consider Neelam, for instance, an inspiring young girl who took advantage of the Shakti Shiksha initiative. Using the skills she learned from the program, she got an internship at Heritage School. Her story illustrates theShakti's potential of digital education- how learning transforms into aspiring outcomes.
Setting the Stage for Career Prospects
The significance of digital literacy goes far beyond the walls of learning institutions. Young girls, with exposure to technology, become professionals within education, finance, healthcare, and technology. Knowing this, many of them, fueled by what they learn, seek to become teachers, engineers, entrepreneurs, or IT specialists.
Additionally, they tend to use their expertise to help others. They assume the position of activists of digital literacy and champion the causes, thereby helping other people to escape the cycle of marginalization. Now, with a web-enabled device at their disposal, they are no longer confined by their geography or socio-economic background and can learn and work in the global digital economy.
An Era Based on Virtual Participation
More than a vocational program, Shakti Shiksha is a movement for inclusion and self-empowerment. It enables girls to be trained in technology and to lead self-sufficient lives where they can make meaningful career choices and contribute to society. This is especially true for girls like Neelam – examples of how a new set of tools can help accommodate encaged life potentials within marginalized communities.
Shakti Shiksha and similar efforts guarantee that no woman is excluded as the world becomes increasingly digitized. They learn to operate basic technology, but more importantly, they learn to transform their lived experiences through self-empowerment and education.
