An integral step towards enhancing education in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) was led by the Summer Immersion Program by Sohum Foundation held from 19th June 2024 to 25th June 2024. The event enjoyed the exhilarating participation of 11 GGN Shaktis and 23 VK Shaktis.
The program commenced with engaging icebreaker activities and social games. Through storytelling exercises and active listening sessions, the girls fostered strong communication skills and teamwork. These activities set the stage for three upcoming theoretical sessions on NEP. These sessions not only enriched the participants' knowledge but also fostered teamwork through the IED-group activities. The following day, three orientation sessions focused on teaching and mentoring techniques, laying the groundwork for the immersive learning experiences to come.
Throughout the program Shaktis engaged in a variety of educational activities, including teaching, reflective sessions, fundraising through art projects, solving case studies, and so on. The teaching sessions covered subjects such as science, arts, and English. Shaktis engaged in various activities, including skits, science experiments (like those demonstrating global warming), and poetry recitation, with some students writing their own poems. There was also a meaningful interaction with VK students and teachers.
As the program reached its zenith, a wrap-up session consolidated the learnings and provided guidance on building upon these experiences for future mentoring sessions. The icing on the cake was an online interaction with Dr. Pawan Sinha, a distinguished MIT professor, which added an inspiring conclusion to this enriching program.
