Fueling growth: Tradition meets nutrition

Nutrition is the cornerstone of a child’s development - influencing their physical health, mental sharpness and emotional resilience. At Sarvam Foundation, we recognise the importance of right nutrition, as well as skill building and holistic education to the Shaktis. It fuels their energy, strengthens their minds and empowers them to achieve their dreams. It enables our Shaktis to thrive physically, mentally and emotionally. With this vision, our centers in Bangalore, Gurgaon and Vasant Kunj are not only nurturing talent but also addressing essential nutritional meals.

Bangalore Centre: Reviving Tradition through Nutrition Our fully-fledged Bangalore centre has blossomed into a vibrant space for growth, development and learning - offering yoga and dance classes to enhance physical well-being and to build confidence and discipline. To complement these activities, we have implemented a unique traditional program inspired by Karnataka’s traditional culinary heritage.

Chinakurali: A wholesome snack that is filled with nutrition (Source : Internet)

The highlight of our nutrition initiative is Chinakurali”, an ancient recipe cherished for its health benefits and rich flavor. This wholesome snack includes an assortment of whole grains like Green Gram, Horse Gram, Alasande (Red cow pea), roasted Chana, Groundnuts along with Copra (Coconut). The preparation involves soaking the pulses for hours, drying them in sun completely, dry roasting them till they turn brown and then mixing them with freshly grinded spices, coconut and peanuts. This blend creates a highly nutritious and energy packed meal that is wholesome, delicious and filling. In addition to Chinakurali, the Shaktis are served sprouted ragi drinks and bananas, providing a rich source of calcium, iron and essential vitamins to support their growth.

The Traditional Nutrition at Gurgaon and Vasant Kunj At our Gurgaon and Vasant Kunj centre, we uphold the same dedication to nourishment. It takes a more simplified but equally impactful approach. Shaktis are provided with gud-chana, a time honored combination of jaggery and roasted gram. This simple yet power-packed snack is rich in iron, protein and other essential nutrients that boosts energy and stamina, ensuring the Shaktis are fueled for their daily activities. Daily, in addition to this, they are also given a banana, egg and ‘Shakti Juice’ - an antioxidant juice which is a blend of more than 18 healthy and natural ingredients like Curry leaves, Amla, carrot, beetroot etc.

Beyond Food: Fostering Holistic Growth Our nutrition programs are more than just about food- they are about instilling a sense of care and belonging. By introducing traditional recipes, we are reconnecting Shaktis with cultural roots, while ensuring they stay healthy and active. Through these efforts we aim to create an environment where Shaktis feel valued and supported in every aspect of their lives. Their health and well-being are the foundations, upon which their dreams can be built.

The Future Road Ahead As we continue to expand and refine our programs, we remain adhered to providing the best of tradition and innovation. By blending rich cultural heritage with modern nutritional science we are empowering Shaktis to lead healthier lives.

Because every Shakti deserves not just the chance to learn, but the strength and vitality to make the most of every opportunity.
